What a fantastic event! Thank you to Pious Thomas for facilitating the first hybrid “in person” / virtual CIO legal technology forum hosted by @DOCS with over 30 of Australia’s leading law firms represented in the private function room of The George on Collins Street in Melbourne. The presentation highlighted technology gaps in the practice of law, with a focus on how inefficient in-house electronic document reviews and discovery is currently conducted.

Current processes incorporate inconsistent, disconnected and unstructured practices that are non compliant with eDiscovery guidelines and how @DOCS eDiscovery and document review workspace solution; a legal guidance system developed to conform to the requirements of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (Data files collection, coding and review, binding and presentation) mitigates these issues.

Furthermore, we discussed how global multibillion dollar identity fraud and verification issues affect law firms specific to document signing and the validation of individuals (KYC / Know Your Client process). The existing approach must evolve to mitigate risks associated with inconsistent witnessing of transactions as this exposes firms and their clients to a litany of risks. @DOCS biometric identification solution solves these issues by linking directly to international passport, driver’s licence and government identification agencies in real time.
